What is Nookaly?

Nookaly scores and analyses London property listings against your personal preferences, so you can tell at a glance how well a home fits you &mdash; on budget, space, commute, area, energy and more.
              There are two ways to use it: a mobile app for iOS and Android, and a browser extension for Rightmove and Zoopla on your computer. They share one account, so your preferences and favourites follow you everywhere.

App or extension &mdash; what&rsquo;s the difference?

They do the same job in different places:
              
                Mobile app (iOS & Android) &mdash; your home base. Share a listing from the Rightmove or Zoopla app and Nookaly saves and scores it. Review your shortlist, map, commute and analysis on the go.
                Browser extension (Chrome) &mdash; a side panel that appears right on Rightmove and Zoopla as you browse on a computer, scoring every listing in place. It also re-ranks whole search-results pages.
              
              Sign in with the same email on both and everything stays in sync &mdash; you don&rsquo;t have to choose one. Most people browse on the app and do deeper research with the extension.

Which property portals does Nookaly work with?

Accepted Answer

Nookaly works with Rightmove and Zoopla. In the extension it detects when you&rsquo;re on a listing or search-results page and adds insights in the side panel. In the app, you share a listing from Rightmove or Zoopla and Nookaly takes it from there.

Is Nookaly only for London?

Accepted Answer

For now, yes. Nookaly covers London properties with full commute analysis, area data and transit routing. We&rsquo;re working on expanding to other UK cities &mdash; more locations are coming soon.

Question 5

Why don&rsquo;t you show property images from Rightmove and Zoopla?

Accepted Answer

We don&rsquo;t have permission to use property images from Rightmove or Zoopla. Those images belong to the estate agents and portals, and showing them outside their platforms would breach their terms.
              Instead we use illustrated placeholders that represent the property type (detached, terraced, flat, and so on). To see the real photos, tap or click through to the original listing.

Nookaly is free to start &mdash; property scoring, favourites, maps, area data and 5 smart searches a day are all included on every account, on both the app and the extension.
              Pro (&pound;5.99/mo) unlocks more smart searches (50/day), unlimited personalised analysis, favourites comparison, Daily Discover, watch areas and more. No subscription? You can still unlock personalised analysis on a single property with pay-per-use credits (1 for &pound;0.99, 3 for &pound;1.99, 10 for &pound;5.99). See the pricing page for the full comparison.

How do I install Nookaly?

Mobile app:
              
                Download Nookaly from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
                Sign in with your email &mdash; we send a secure magic link, so there&rsquo;s no password to remember.
                Complete the short guided setup to set your preferences.
              
              Browser extension:
              
                Visit the Chrome Web Store and click &ldquo;Add to Chrome&rdquo;, then pin it to your toolbar.
                Open Rightmove or Zoopla and click the Nookaly icon to open the side panel.
                Sign in with the same email to keep everything in sync.

How do I save a property?

In the app: open a listing in the Rightmove or Zoopla app (or your mobile browser) and tap Share &rarr; Nookaly. The property is saved to your favourites and scored against your preferences. You&rsquo;ll find it on the Home tab.
              In the extension: when the side panel is open on a listing, tap the star to save it. Your shortlist syncs to the app automatically.

How do I set up my preferences?

When you first open Nookaly you&rsquo;re guided through a quick setup that covers:
              
                Your household &mdash; adults, children, pets and life stage
                Budget & basics &mdash; min/max budget, minimum bedrooms and bathrooms
                Home style &mdash; property types, tenure, condition, garden and parking
                What matters &mdash; weight sliders for the scoring factors (commute, value, space, safety, energy, light, broadband, relative value, air quality, quietness and more)
                Must-haves & deal breakers &mdash; desired features, deal breakers, and free-text requirements
                Commute destinations &mdash; up to 8 places (work, school, gym, family&hellip;) with transport mode, target time and frequency
              
              You can change any of these later under Settings &rarr; Housing Preferences in the app, or Settings in the extension. Set them up once and they apply on both.

How does property scoring work?

Accepted Answer

Every property gets a personalised score from 0&ndash;100 based on the weights you set during setup. It factors in:
              
                Commute &mdash; travel time to your saved destinations
                Budget value &mdash; how well the price fits your budget
                Living space &mdash; floor area relative to your household
                Safety &mdash; local crime rates
                Energy (EPC) &mdash; energy-efficiency rating
                Natural light &mdash; window orientation and daylight potential
                Broadband &mdash; available internet speeds
                Relative value &mdash; price per sqm vs. local sold prices
                Air quality &mdash; local pollution levels
                Quietness &mdash; noise from traffic, rail and density
              
              The score filters out properties that don&rsquo;t meet your hard requirements (budget, bedrooms, bathrooms, commute caps) and ranks the rest against your weights. Tap any score to see the full breakdown. Desired features and free-text requirements aren&rsquo;t in this score &mdash; those feed the personalised analysis.

Question 11

What&rsquo;s the difference between Basic and Personalised analysis?

Basic analysis is a general read on the property &mdash; condition, layout and local area, including garden and orientation cues. It&rsquo;s free for every property.
              Personalised &ldquo;For You&rdquo; analysis goes further, weighing your specific budget, household, commute, must-haves and deal breakers to explain how well a home matches you. It&rsquo;s included with Pro (unlimited), fully included during the trial, or unlockable per-property with credits on Free.

How do search and Discover work?

Nookaly gives you a few ways to find homes:
              
                Smart search &mdash; describe what you want in plain English (e.g. &ldquo;3-bed terraced near good schools with a garden&rdquo;) and Nookaly returns matching properties scored to your preferences. Free includes 5 searches a day; Pro gets 50. Available in the app and the extension.
                Daily Discover &mdash; a daily &ldquo;For You&rdquo; set of recommendations, ranked to your preferences and the homes you save and view. Pro gets 20 picks a day and can refresh For You and Best Commute on demand for new picks anytime. In the app it&rsquo;s its own tab with &ldquo;For You&rdquo; and &ldquo;Best Commute&rdquo; modes.
                Search-page ranking &mdash; in the extension, when you&rsquo;re on a Rightmove or Zoopla results page, Nookaly scores every visible listing and re-ranks them by fit. (Extension only.)

How do favourites and comparison work?

Save any property to your favourites &mdash; your shortlist is ranked by score and you can rename entries and sort by score or price. You can also export a shareable code to back up or hand off your list, and import one to load someone else&rsquo;s.
              With Pro, favourites comparison lines your shortlist up side by side and produces a ranking, the key trade-offs, and &ldquo;if this matters most&rdquo; scenario picks. The trial includes one comparison; Pro is unlimited and refreshes automatically as your shortlist changes.

How does commute analysis work?

Add up to 8 places (office, school, gym, family&hellip;) with a postcode, transport mode, maximum acceptable time and how often you travel. For each property, Nookaly calculates:
              
                Journey time &mdash; real routes by tube, bus, rail, car or cycling
                Step-by-step route &mdash; walking legs, transfers and segment times
                Commute Quality Index (CQI) &mdash; a stress score from duration, crowding, transfers and reliability
                Single fare and annual cost &mdash; estimated one-way cost and total yearly spend at your travel frequency
              
              Each destination shows whether the trip is within your target time. In the app you can also drop your own Points of Interest as map pins.

What area and map data do I get?

Every property comes with local area insights: demographics, crime and safety, broadband speeds, flood and noise levels, air quality, deprivation indices, the local property market and nearby planning applications. In the app these live on the property&rsquo;s Area tab.
              The interactive map shows the property and your shortlist alongside nearby transport, schools, supermarkets, parks, healthcare and more &mdash; toggle categories on and off to focus.

What are watch areas and gem alerts?

Watch areas (Pro) let you track places so new matching listings surface automatically, filtered to a score cutoff you choose. Pro includes 5 outcodes plus a whole London borough. Manage them under Settings &rarr; Watch Areas in the app.
              Gem alerts flag standout properties worth jumping on &mdash; on every plan. The app delivers these as push notifications, and they&rsquo;re highlighted in your email digest. On Pro, new matches are also analysed automatically in the background.

How do I upgrade or manage my subscription?

Open Settings in the app or the extension to see your current plan and upgrade, downgrade or cancel. Your plan is the same everywhere; you manage payment wherever you subscribed:
              
                iOS app &mdash; through your Apple account (App Store &rarr; Subscriptions)
                Android app &mdash; through Google Play (Play Store &rarr; Subscriptions)
                Extension & web &mdash; securely via Stripe, from the billing portal in Settings

Can I try Pro features before subscribing?

Accepted Answer

Yes &mdash; eligible new users can start a 7-day free trial of Pro features, with no payment to begin. The trial includes smart search, unlimited personalised analysis and one favourites comparison.

Question 19

How do I export or delete my data?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings &rarr; Privacy & Data in the app (or the privacy section of the extension). You can export everything Nookaly holds about you, or request account deletion &mdash; deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind. We comply fully with GDPR.

I didn&rsquo;t get my magic-link sign-in email

Accepted Answer

Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure you entered the same email each time. The link is only valid for a short window, so request a fresh one if it&rsquo;s expired. Open the link on the same device you&rsquo;re signing in on. Still stuck? Email support@nookaly.co.uk.

Question 21

Sharing a listing to Nookaly didn&rsquo;t work

Accepted Answer

Make sure you&rsquo;re sharing a Rightmove or Zoopla property link, and that Nookaly appears in the share sheet (on iOS you may need to scroll the row of apps or tap &ldquo;More&rdquo;). Check the property is within London, our current coverage area. If Nookaly isn&rsquo;t in the share sheet, reopen the app once and try again.

Question 22

The extension side panel isn&rsquo;t showing up

Accepted Answer

Make sure you&rsquo;re on a Rightmove or Zoopla page, then click the Nookaly icon in your Chrome toolbar. If the icon isn&rsquo;t visible, click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome to find Nookaly and pin it.

Property data isn&rsquo;t loading

Accepted Answer

Pull to refresh (app) or reload the page (extension). Check the property is within London, our current coverage area &mdash; some newly listed homes take a few moments to be analysed. If it persists, contact support@nookaly.co.uk.

How do I contact support?

Email support@nookaly.co.uk, or open a support ticket from inside the app (Settings &rarr; Help and Support) or the extension (Settings &rarr; Support). We usually reply within 24 hours.
